| Four SIGMA Universities among the nine "CEI 2009" universities |

Following the deliberations of the international commission of experts, four SIGMA Universities have been qualified as a "Campus of International Excellence 2009" (CEI 2009).
UCIII - Campus Carlos III UAB - UAB CEI: Promoting Knowledge, Encouraging Innovation UAM - Campus of International Excellence UAM-CSIC UCO – Agro-food Campus The resolution considers these projects to offer high potential for attaining the level of international excellence once the strategic project presented by these universities has been put into practice. Of the 18 projects presented, the UPF has received the Promising Project qualification for its project titled “Campus UPF - Icaria International”.

| SIGMA Gestión Universitaria takes part in the RS3G Steering Committee |
During the 26th and 27th of January SIGMA Gestión Universitaria has taken part in the new meeting of the rs3g Steering Committee held by the University of Malaga. The first task of the meeting was to review the vision and mission statements with the aim of giving a more open definition of the possible participants and emphasizing the need to contribute to the definition of standards at a European level. |

| More collaboration between the Ministry and the Alianza 4 Universidades |
The Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sports and the association “Alianza 4 universidades", have signed an agreement for the exchange of information between the Observatory for the Monitoring of Research Activities at Spanish Universities (IUNE) and the Integrated University Information System (SIIU), relating to indicators of scientific activity carried out within the Spanish university system. |
